1- Good Management Practices: An explanation of how production adheres to sanitary and environmental standards set by agricultural regulatory bodies to ensure a pure, safe, and high-quality product.
- Certification and Inspection: Highlighting product traceability and clean extraction processes that keep the honey and propolis free from contaminants or synthetic pesticides.
- Active Environmental Preservation: Presenting the activity not merely as extraction, but as a conservation service, where the presence of bees strengthens the regeneration of the native biome.
2- The Mangrove Biome and the Secret of Red Propolis
- The Mangrove Ecosystem: The mangrove is a natural nursery with high biodiversity. Unique conditions regarding salinity, soil, and humidity shape the surrounding flora.
- The Botany of Red Propolis: Bees collect reddish resin from the buds of the Dalbergia ecastaphyllum plant (popularly known as rabo-de-bugio). This interaction yields red propolis, internationally recognized for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.
- Honey Flavor and Quality: Honey produced in this environment carries distinctive floral and mineral notes, a result of the preserved coastal vegetation.
3- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- PPE will be provided by the apiary itself. The following items will be available: white boots, a full-body suit, a beekeeping jacket, and sting-proof gloves.
- Smoker: An explanation regarding the use of natural smoke (made from sawdust or dried leaves) to calm the bees. 4- Immersing Yourself in the Beekeeper's Routine
- Welcome and briefing: A warm welcome accompanied by a theoretical explanation of the bees' social organization (Queen, Workers, and Drones).
- Guided walk to the apiary: A route leading to the hives in the mangrove area, observing the vegetation and the bees' flight patterns.
- Opening the hive: Visitors watch closely as the frames are removed, observing the queen's egg-laying, brood cells, pollen storage, and honey deposits.
